A Light Never Goes Out | Blu-ray (Bayview Films)
On January 30, 2024, Bayview Films is releasing the Blu-ray (Region A) for Anastasia Tsang’s award-winning A Light Never Goes Out, a 2022 Hong Kong tale starring Sylvia Chang (Tattooed Dragon), Simon Yam (I Did It My Way), Cecilia Choi (Beyond the Dream) and Henick Chou (In Broad Daylight).
While dealing with her husband’s passing, a woman discovers his neon workshop is still inhabited by his apprentice. They work together in putting up a neon sign, fighting against the forward movement against the traditional craft that defined Hong Kong.
For the film, Sylvia Chang took home the award for Best Leading Actress at the 59th Golden Horse Awards, where the movie was also nominated for Best Visual Effects (by Dennis Yeung) and the FIPRESCI Prize, which is an association award of national organizations of professional film critics and film journalists from around the world for “the promotion and development of film culture and for the safeguarding of professional interests.
