Who you gonna call? Michael Jai White and Jim Belushi are part of the ensemble cast of James Mark’s ‘Karate Ghost’

Indie action filmmaker/writer James Mark (Infiltrate, Kill Order) is currently hard-at-work on Karate Ghost, an upcoming martial arts comedy that’s headlined by Tim Rozon (Wynonna Earp: Vengeance), Colton Gobbo (The Desperate Hour) and Jim Belushi (Red Heat).

The film’s ensemble cast also includes Michael Jai White (Triple Threat), WWE on-air personality Cathy Kelley, Natalie Zea (Justified), and comedian Bobby Lee (MADtv, A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas).

Set in a town where absurd karate laws rule everything, Karate Ghost follows a lonely teen (Gobbo) who unexpectedly bonds with the ghost of his late father’s favorite action hero (Rozon). What starts as a strange, almost comforting kind of mentorship slowly turns into a fight over identity, legacy, and redemption.

Written by Mark and the late Larry Bain, the film’s producers include Mark, Bruno Marino, and Tony Del Rio for Kemodo Entertainment. David Barrett (Blue Bloods, Twisted Metal), Plato Fountidakis (Lost Girl), and Brent Jones (Jumper) are exec producing (via Deadline).

🔥 Footnote: Canadian stuntman turned director James Mark has built a solid name in indie action. He first drew attention with Kill Order in 2017, a lean direct to video film that doubled as a showcase for stunt work, especially his brother Chris Mark. Recent films like Infiltrate have furthered his reputation for clean, well framed action and stronger character work. Definitely one to keep on your radar.

We’ll keep you updated on this project as we learn more. Until then, here’s the Trailers for Mark’s Kill Order and Infiltrate:
