“The Trough” Theatrical Poster

Filmmaker Zhao Lin-Shan – director of Chow Yun-Fat in 2012’s Three Kingdoms period thriller, The Assassins – is planning his second feature, titled 731. The film will be led by Hong Kong star Nick Cheung Ka-fai (The Trough, Integrity).

731 is named after the notorious notorious Unit 731, a top-secret Japanese division which used inhumane methods in their biological warfare research (via CGTN).

Thanks to AFS, we have the film’s preliminary poster with a tagline that reads “Biochemical Revelations.”

We’ll keep you updated on 731 as we learn more. As for now, here’s a look at what Zhao Lin-Shan is capable of in The Assassins:
