  1. I’d like to start a petition to have Eddie Peng’s name in this post replaced by Angie Tsang. 😛

This looks like it could be fun, ridiculously patriotic, but the choreography seems to be a throwback to the post-Matrix era. If someone showed me that trailer & told me it was released around the same time as ‘Romeo Must Die’, I’d probably believe them.

Over the top wire fu to fast to fake. When I spot this in the trailer
The whole movie normally sucks.doesn’t make any since to pay a real martial artist and then film like this I thing
Sammos version. Can’t be beat for a while its a shame because this story line. looks good

  3. Andrew Hernandez says:

I like this trailer. I like the combination of 90’s and 00’s wire fu. Vincent Zhao doesn’t seem to want to age.

I hope his attitude has improved since his fallout with Donnie Yen over Special ID.

  4. These recent Chinese fantasy blockbusters (‘Legend of the Naga Pearls’ – I’m looking at you) must be selling well for them to have picked up a vintage flick like ‘Legend of Zu’.

  5. Mike Retter says:

Ok, Im a little ignorant perhaps, but I really want to ask this … Has mainland China ever made a really great martial arts film? I mean something on the level of the great Hong Kong ones. It seems every historical epic they make is just a reaction to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (Taiwan). There may be some new-school stuff they have done that ios “great”, which Im not aware of, but otherwise I can really only think of Shoalin Temple.. They kind of missed the great period of the 70s/80s when action cinema was at its artistic peak in Asia.

Forgive my ignorance oh masters of martial arts cinema! (City On Fire folk)

  6. Brian says:

Let me guess another wong Fei hung Movie.Dam it seems like the mainland chinese producers can’t come up with a original story line.
