3/7/25 | Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In (Hi-YAH! Exclusive)

Finally, the film that proves that Hong Kong cinema is far from dead arrives on Hi-YAH!  Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In is an adaptation of the cult manhua (Chinese comicbook) series City of Darkness by Andy Seto. Set in the eighties inside the dangerous and enigmatic Kowloon Walled City, which was a de jure Chinese enclave within British colonial Hong Kong, Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In follows troubled youth Chan Lok-kwun as he accidentally enters the Walled City, discovers the order amidst its chaos, and learns important life lessons along the way.

This all-star martial arts actioner stars Louis Koo (Organized Crime and Triad Bureau), Sammo Hung (King Swindler), Richie Jen (Trivisa), Raymond Lam (Line Walker) and Philip Ng (Undercover Punch and Gun), and with action by Kenji Tanigaki (Enter the Fat Dragon). | Read our review.

3/7/25 | A Fist Within Four Walls (Season 1/Episode 3)

Looking for more action that revolves around the infamous Kowloon Walled City? Before 2024’s Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In, there was the 2016 TVB series, A Fist Within Four Walls.

Chor Au-Kuen (Ruco Chan) bears the grief of the loss of his family and returns to the walled city in hopes of finding his long lost sister, only to find out that the place he grew up in has become a lawless no man’s land…

A Fist Within Four Walls also stars Nancy Wu (Men on the Dragon), Benjamin Yuen (Infernal Affairs), Yuen Qiu (Kung Fu Hustle) and Philip Ng (Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In).

3/14/25 | Nine-Ring Golden Dagger (Hi-YAH! Original)

Also known as Blocking The Horse, this 2024 film tells the story of Yang Ye, who died in battle in Youzhou. After his death, the emperor bestowed the Nine-Ring Golden Dagger, a treasure of the Yang family, to the Song Dynasty. However, it fell into the hands of the Liao Kingdom. In their grief and anger, Yang’s eighth and ninth sisters went to the Liao Kingdom to reclaim the precious dagger. On their journey back, they encountered Jiao Guangpu, a displaced general from the Song Dynasty. Initially strangers, they later joined forces to safely return the treasure to their homeland.

Directed by Feng Xiaojun, Nine-Ring Golden Dagger stars Song Tianshuo (Cliff Walker), Zhang Xintong (2022’s A Man Called Hero), Wu Yue (Ip Man 4: The Finale) and Yu Kang (Ip Man 3).

3/14/25 | A Fist Within Four Walls (Season 1/Episode 4)

The continuing saga of the 2016 TVB series, A Fist Within Four Walls that stars Ruco Chan (The Righteous Fists), Nancy Wu (Men on the Dragon), Benjamin Yuen (Infernal Affairs), Yuen Qiu (Kung Fu Hustle) and Philip Ng (Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In).

3/21/25 | Martial Arts of Shaolin

Martial Arts of Shaolin (aka Shaolin Temple 3) trades their usual studio-bound filmmaking style for location shooting. The production values take something of a hit as a result but instead of Shaw Brothers’ surreal-looking sets we get to marvel at the natural beauty of Hong Kong, so we’d say it’s a fair trade off. Interestingly enough, the first two Shaolin Temple movies were funded and made in Mainland China. For this film, part three in the series, Jet Li returns but the production moves to Hong Kong. Behind the camera is Lau Kar-leung, the legendary director of 36th Chamber of Shaolin. This would be his only collaboration with Jet. | read our review.

3/21/25 | A Fist Within Four Walls (Season 1/Episode 5)

The continuing saga of the 2016 TVB series, A Fist Within Four Walls that stars Ruco Chan (The Righteous Fists), Nancy Wu (Men on the Dragon), Benjamin Yuen (Infernal Affairs), Yuen Qiu (Kung Fu Hustle) and Philip Ng (Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In).

3/28/25 | Mad Monkey Kung Fu

This 1979 kung fu film starring Hsiao Ho and Lau Kar-leung (who also directs) is another minor masterpiece from the Shaw Brothers. At nearly two hours long, this movie stuffs in as much Monkey Fist-style martial arts as the audience can handle. | Read our review.

3/28/25 | A Fist Within Four Walls (Season 1/Episode 6)

The continuing saga of the 2016 TVB series, A Fist Within Four Walls that stars Ruco Chan (The Righteous Fists), Nancy Wu (Men on the Dragon), Benjamin Yuen (Infernal Affairs), Yuen Qiu (Kung Fu Hustle) and Philip Ng (Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In).
