Lionsgate presents 2011’s The Sword Identity, starring Chang-Hui Yu, Yang Song and Yuanyuan Zhao. The film is written, directed and choreographed by Xu Hao Feng (the screenwriter of Wong Kar Wai’s upcoming flick, The Grandmasters).
Unlike the typical martial arts releases that Lionsgate imports, The Sword Identity is supposed to be a quality film with action choreography that’s no-nonsense, realistic and wire-free. This time around, Lionsgate didn’t bother to slap on a new title (i.e. Choy Lee Fut became Fight the Fight), which is probably due to the film’s noted acclaim. Look for it on DVD on August 14th. Until then, check out the trailer.
I’m a sucker for Wuxias and the latest good ones have been Shaolin (andy Lau),true legend,Reign of Assassins.
Plus it has the yellow river fighter.
Do you happen to have a review of that movie?
