Joko Anwar, the writer and director of films such as 2019’s Impetigore and Gundala, comes The Siege at Thorn High, an upcoming thriller from Amazon MGM Studios.
A special school for troubled children. A teacher who is determined to discipline the students. Here, teachers must not only teach, but survive the deadly attacks of their students.
The film stars Morgan Oey (The Night Comes for Us), Omara Esteghlal (Andragogy), Hana Malasan (The Shadow Strays), Fatih Unru (A Business Proposal) and Satine Zaneta (Virgo and the Sparklings).
The Siege at Thorn High hits Indonesian Theaters on April 17. Look out for a U.S. release date soon. Until then, don’t miss the film’s Trailer:
Is it ok to call it the Thai answer to 187?
Crap. Indonesian.
Is 187 good?
Been a while, so I forgot.
My bad. Mixed it up with a different 90’s hood movie. The Substitute.
I liked 187 a lot. It’s like if Dangerous Minds and Stand and Deliver didn’t work. (Although Sam Jackson did help some other students.)
I’ll have to check it out, Andrew. I remember NOT wanting to see it back then, but re-watching the Trailer today, seems like a gem.
It’s free on YT.
