Action stars Scott Adkins (Ip Man 4, Avengement) and Louis Mandylor (Martial Law) are back for your money! And on May 29th, 2020, Samuel Goldwyn Films is sending these two Debt Collectors straight to your small screen by way of DVD and VOD.

Debt Collectors is the follow up to 2018’s The Debt Collector (read our review) from acclaimed “action” filmmaker Jesse V. Johnson (Triple Threat), who also directed the original.

Also returning is Vladimir Kulich (Smokin’ Aces), writer Stu Small (Accident Man) and fight coordinator Luke LaFontaine (Savage Dog). Additional cast members include Mayling Ng (Lady Bloodfight), Ski Carr (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and Josef Cannon (from JCVD’s unreleased Full Love).

Debt collectors French (Adkins) and Sue (Mandylor) get to work doing what they do best – cracking skulls and breaking bones – as they chase down the various lowlifes who owe money to their boss, Tommy. They’re summoned to Las Vegas to collect from a dirty casino owner, who happens to be a vicious ex-lover of Sue’s. Meanwhile, a notorious drug kingpin is on the warpath to kill French and Sue to avenge his brother’s death. Facing danger from all angles, the pair will have no other choice but to fight their way out of an explosively dangerous situation.

  1. Andrew Hernandez says:

Wow, this comes as a surprise. Especially when Jesse said of the ending: “We didn’t want to sell out, to throw in the towel for a happy ending, a potential sequel, screw all that, we went for broke.”

It’ll be interesting to see how it all comes about.

    • Jesse V Johnson says:

I have made many hypocritical statements over the years, you probably found a few examples when you researched my interviews on-line in order to write your comment – thankfully I am not a politician and have a tendency and proclivity to contradict myself often, 😂

  2. Hanzo says:

Didn’t Sue die at the end of the first one?

  3. Andrew Hernandez says:

I hope this is a good showcase for Mayling Ng! So far, her films have not shown how truly gifted she is!

  4. Xander says:

I guess, uh, he came to and drove himself to a hospital?

  5. MF says:

I heard amazing things about this one from Samuel Goldwyn insiders. Even more than Avengement.
    A game changer is coming.

  6. Dan Hagen says:

Looking forward to this one, but man, what a weirdly-edited trailer. Action scenes look great though.

  7. Andrew Hernandez says:

I just watched Debt Collectors on iTunes, and it was good!

They stuck with the same winning formula from the previous film, and everybody is still a cocky smart-ass. It was nice seeing how much Scott Adkins and Louis Mandylor’s chemistry grew over time.

I thought Mayling Ng was going to throw down with Adkins and have just as good a fight with him as Amy Johnston. Sadly, she only fights a little bit, and I’m still waiting to see her properly showcased.

I wonder if it was a conscious choice to portray Adkins as having to cheat to win. His fight with the boxer was pretty one sided until he played dirty, and he couldn’t keep up with a parkour wannabe.

His fight with Mandylor was really good stuff, and it was cool to see them pay tribute to They Love’s alleyway fight.

I’m glad that Adkins and company are providing us ample entertainment during this terrible quarantine.

    • Dan Hagen says:

The fight between Scott Adkins and Louis Mandylor was definitely the action highlight of the film for me. The shootout at the end was pretty damn explosive as well.

In terms of pure acting, Louis Mandylor’s performance exceeded my expectations. He really gives it his all, and delivers some pretty emotional scenes.

Overall I think this movie is an improvement over the first Debt Collector.
