In the tradition of Choi Dong-hun’s Assassination (2015) and Kim Ji-woon’s The Age of Shadows (2016) comes Saturday Fiction, a spy thriller from director Lou Ye (Suzhou River) and writer Yingli Ma (Summer Palace)

According to AFS, Saturday Fiction revolves around a star theatre actress working as a spy for the Allies in 1941 Shanghai.

The upcoming film stars Gong Li (Shanghai, 2046), Mark Chao (Detective Dee: The Four Heavenly Kings), Jo Odagiri (Azumi, Kamen Rider Kuuga), Tom Wlaschiha (Game of Thrones) and Pascal Greggory (Non-Fiction).

A domestic release for Saturday Fiction is due in December. Until then, don’t miss the film’s New Trailer below:

    Looks intriguing. I hope it’s more like Assassination. It’s not often that Gong Ali gets to use a pistol.
