On June 2, 2020, Image Entertainment/Shudder will release the Blu-ray & DVD for One Cut of the Dead (read our review), a Japanese horror/comedy from Shinichirou Ueda (Aesop’s Game).
Things go badly for a hack director and film crew shooting a low budget zombie movie in an abandoned WWII Japanese facility, when they are attacked by real zombies.
This 2017 micro-budget production quickly gained cult status, almost entirely thanks to the positive word of mouth it’s achieved on the festival circuit. Made for just $25,000 and shot in 8 days, it’s already raked in over $25,000,000 globally, equating to a 1000% return on investment (read our full review).
