Vinegar Syndrome has announced two new Hong Kong titles, both of which ship later this month:

The first, Corey Yuen’s 1994 My Father is a Hero (aka The Enforcer), starring Jet Li (League of Gods), Anita Mui (Drunken Master 2) and Tse Miu (Eye for an Eye: The Blind Swordsman).

In the film, an undercover cop struggling to provide for his son and ailing wife, must infiltrate a ruthless gang. But things turn sour when another cop blows his cover and he quickly finds himself battling for his life and the lives of his family.

The second, 1994’s Love on Delivery, starring Stephen Chow (Thunder Cops 2), Christy Chung (Tai Chi Boxer) and Ng Man Tat (7 Assassins). To prove himself to a love interest, a delivery boy learns dubious kung fu from an aging charlatan so he can challenge his archrival to a fight.

Aahh! I bought Goodie Emporium’s multi region Blu Ray player because I thought these films and others would never get a region A release!

No, I don’t regret it, and I’m glad VS is using the original title for Jet Li’s film. It appears to be the same extras, transfer, and properly translated subs from the Eureka release. Interestingly enough, VS also had releases of Magic Crystal and Lady Reporter/Blonde Fury with the same extras as the oversea releases. (Although people say VS transfer of Magic Crystal is not as well done as 88’s.)
