If they’re going to put out 4k HK movies from Sony, I’d rather it be Who Am I? and Kung Fu Hustle.

  2. Aerosniff Someglue says:

The Blu-Ray’s all right for me.

Put out “new” movies or fuck off, 88 Films.

    Eureka is better than you.

    • Ska Martes says:

There is literally no interest in any new Hong Kong movies on this website or similar outlets/forums. Not sure if a Table for Six 2 is gonna sell alot of copies.

      • Aerosniff Someglue says:

You’re not interested in anything related to Hong Kong movies of the past?

Don’t read those news. Good riddance.

        • Ska Martes says:

Let me guess – you can’t actually name any HK movies since 1997. You are probably one of those UK dogs on a leash BNO – enjoy your new home where the locals will definitely treat you as an equal

  3. mediaguy says:

Happy to see, but I also agree that some other films that (yet) to see blu-ray (essentially) such as ‘Who Am I?’ should be remastered and released on Blu or 4K before multiple versions of other already released titles. However, I support and do enjoy the continued interest in one of my favorite film genres. This is a suggestion not a complaint.

  4. Ska Martes says:

Miracles is one of Chan’s best movies (cue people complaining there’s not enough action and too much screwball comedy). BUT i do agree 88 Films bluray from a few years back was excellent/almost perfect and a HDR transfer not supervised by anyone involved in the original production is always gonna be hit and miss. Not enough reasons to upgrade

  5. Typo says:

When I said “new movies”, I was talking about movies French label Spectrum films has put out: Full alert, The saviour, Expect the unexpected, Gallants (2010), On the edge, Walking, Man on the brink, Lee Rock I & II, Ahero never dies, Run and kill, Cops and robbers, Flirting scholar, People’s hero, mainland great movies (Old stone: 2016 Mr. Six: 2015, Wrath of silence: 2017,…

Or movies I’d love to get on Blu-Ray, made before or after 1997″

By the way I have Infernal affairs I-II-III, Ip Man 1-4, Black coal, SPL, SPL 2, Let the bullets fly, Election I-II and a shitload of others Chinese post 1997 Chinese movies.

When a movie has already seen 1258 editions, that bores me “a little”.

If they could put out on Blu-Ray Life without principle, Trivista,… Just got City of darkness, by the way.

  6. Andrew Hernandez says:

I like Miracles a lot. I had the HKL DVD from way back, but I was glad to get the previous edition by 88 Films. As a tribute to Golden Age Hollywood films including MGM musicals, Jackie Chan totally got it, and you could see the influence everywhere. Although there’s only 3 major action scenes in the film, they still rank alongside his best work at they’re full of comedic rhythm and timing, great stunt work, and the hits looked like they really hurt.

Even though their fight scene was short, it was great to see an exchange between Jackie Chan and Billy Chow. I wish they could have had a big ass ten minute fight that could have been just as great as Billy Chow’s fights with Jet Li and Sammo Hung.

  7. CJ says:

I’ll be that guy and say that I hope that future editions may re-instate the original Bey Logan commentaries.

The one he did for ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA with a very unimpressed Mark King is a classic.

    • Scott Robinson says:

I stand behind you. Bring Bey back. The entire public is sick of of the average crap put out by mike leeder and all his cronies.

      • Ska Martes says:

While Croydon is a dystopian hellhole where NOT getting shanked by a roadman is the exception, there have been a few notable exports from the place….Stormzy and Kate Moss being two. Mike Leeder however might be second worst thing to come out of Croydon just behind knife crime stats
