The super charismatic Ma Dong-seok, aka Don Lee (Unstoppable, Champion, Along with the Gods, Train to Busan), who enjoyed some Hollywood traction with Marvel’s The Eternals – as well as the upcoming English language remake of his own The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil – will soon be seen in The Roundup: Punishment (read our review), the fourth film in The Round Up franchise that started with 2017’s The Outlaws, 2022’s The Roundup and 2023’s The Roundup: No Way Out.
For the fourth film, newcomer Heo Myung-Haeng (director of the upcoming Dong-seok Mad Max-ish film, Badland Hunters) steps in at the helm.
Re-joining Dong-seok are Park Ji-Hwan (The Roundup: No Way Out), Lee Beom-Soo (The Roundup: No Way Out) and Lee Ji-Hoon (The Roundup: No Way Out) with the new cast additions Kim Moo-Yul (Ballerina) and Lee Dong-Hwi (Broker).
The Roundup: Punishment is set for release in North America on May 3rd. Watch the film’s latest Trailer below:
I hope Ma Dong-Seok enjoys making these films. If I were him, I feel like I’d be having a blast!
Just like what was mentioned in the review for Part 3, I hope Heo Myung-haeng turns the gear higher and raises the stakes. If Badland Hunters is any indication, maybe Dong-Seok will have more challenging opponents and be in more danger.
More more! He’s got the right path.
The outlaws will probably stay the best for me. Let’s hope for something a little different this time…
