On October 22, 2024, 88 Films is releasing the Blu-ray (Region A/B) for The Kung Fu Instructor, a 1979 Shaw Brothers kung fu film directed by Sun Chung (The Deadly Breaking Sword).
In this bitterly divided town, there’s no middle ground; you’re either with one side or the other – cross the line and face dire consequences. One clan hires a kung fu master – played by the great Ti Lung (A Better Tomorrow) – to break the stalemate, but he’s nobody’s servant and his loyalties can’t be bought so easily…
Inspired by Kurosawa’s Yojimbo and Sergio Leone’s A Fistful of Dollars, The Kung Fu Instructor puts a slightly more cynical spin on traditional codes of honour. Stylishly directed by Sun Chung (Human Lanterns), 88 Films are proud to present the Blu-ray premier of this martial arts masterpiece.
The Kung Fu Instructor also stars Wong Yu (Mercenaries from Hong Kong), Ku Feng (The Jade Raksha), Angie Chiu Nga-Chi (Heroes Shed No Tears) and Johnny Wang Lung-Wei (Twin Dragons).

I sure hope they provide the classic English dub for this because it’s one of my all time favorites and I have been wanting this for many years! This film showcases some of the best pole fighting seen in any kung fu movie. Please let me know if the English dub will be included. I used to watch this frequently on the El Rey network.
Hey JJ we’re about 2 months away from this new release and I’m curious if you’ve gotten any updates on this. Will the English dub be included on this? It stands to reason that it will just like all the other releases by 88 Films but I never assume anything. Thanks!
