Jackie Chan teams up with writer/director Larry Yang (Another Shot) for the light-hearted action film titled Ride On (read our review), which was released on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital on October 24, 2023 from Well Go USA.

After two debt collectors attempt to seize a stunt horse belonging to washed-up stuntman Luo (Jackie Chan), video of the ensuing confrontation―and the dynamic duo’s narrow acrobatic escape―goes viral on social media. Furious, humiliated and out for revenge, the vicious debt collectors return, so Luo and his horse Red Hare engage in several hilarious action-packed stunts and antics that outdo the most daring acts from their glory days to outmaneuver and outsmart the bad guys.

The film also stars Liu Haocun (Cliff Walkers), Kevin Guo (World’s Greatest Dad), Wu Jing (Wind Blast), Xing Yu (Super Bodyguard), Andy On (Abduction), Rongguang Yu (The Era of Vampires) and Joey Yung (12 Golden Ducks).

  1. Dan says:

Kind of a “meh” trailer but at least there were no CGI horses so we can be thankful for that at least.

  2. Killer Meteor says:

I’m glad Jackie is finally playing his age at least – wasn’t too long that the likes of Liu were playing his love interest!

  3. Bruce Jensen says:

I have no clue what this movie will be about, based on this trailer, but, regardless, it looks so much better than 99.9% of Jackie’s recent movies, like Kung Fu Yoga, for instance! I hope it isn’t ruined by a bunch of needless, & thoroughly unconvincing CGI crap, it doesn’t look like it should be an action movie at all, just give us an engaging story with likeable, engaging characters, please!

  4. DoctorFromGallifrey says:

Looking forward to this! Love Jackie!

  5. Dan says:

Much better than the first trailer. This looks like it could actually be fun.

  6. Aerosniff Someglue says:

    This is only one movie?

Man, there’s a world between the first and the third trailer.

If the horse isn’t horrible CGI (strangely, if it is CGI, it’s really much better done than the “cars” in Kung fu yoga and Co!), who knows?

Hope. A pretty strange feeling for a “recent” Jackie Chan movie!

    • “Man, there’s a world between the first and the third trailer.”

& that world is called – the distributor has figured out which footage to use that’ll sell to a wider audience.

I recall a similar strategy was used with 2013’s ‘Badges of Fury’, where most of the trailers heavily focused on selling it as a hard hitting action movie with the likes of Jet Li, Wu Jing etc, when in reality it was actually an insufferable comedy vehicle for Wen Zhang.

We’ll see what the final product turns out like!

  7. Dan says:

I don’t know…the more I see of this movie the more optimistic I become, (I don’t think it will be great but it looks like it could be a good bit of fun). No idea what they were thinking with that very first trailer as the two we’ve gotten since then have been miles better.

  8. Ska Martes says:

Terrible artwork but a brilliant return to form for Jackie. Does get a little melodramatic at times but easily his best Mainland Chinese film by a huge margin
