Martial arts star Xie Miao (Eye for an Eye: The Blind Swordsman) returns in Fight Against Evil 3, the third in the comedy-action franchise following 2021’s Fight Against Evil and 2023’s Fight Against Evil 2.

This time around, series writer Yang Bingjia (Eye for an Eye: The Blind Swordsman) takes over directing duties for Pengfei Qin, who steps back as producer.

Cast includes Philip Ng (Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In), Miyi Huang (Ripples of Life), Zhijia Cui (Jian Bing Man) and Diana Lin (Big World). Fight choreography comes courtesy of Du Xiaohui (Eye for an Eye 2: Blind Vengeance).

For fans of Hong Kong action cinema, Miao, the film’s lead star will most likely always be remembered for his co-starring turns as a child martial arts prodigy in the Jet Li outings The New Legend of Shaolin and My Father is a Hero during the mid-1990’s.

While he largely stayed off the radar in the succeeding years, he made a comeback in 2008 with the Tsui Siu-Ming directed Champions, a rousing tale set during the 1936 Olympics that was made off the back of Beijing hosting the event during the same year. Since then he’s appeared onscreen regularly, and found his calling as one of the go-to leading men (probably only rivalled by Fan Siu-Wong) for kung-fu web movies. Later this year, we’ll see him in Tanigaki Kenji’s anticipated, all-star martial arts thriller, The Furious.

Fight Against Evil 3 releases in China January 30, 2026. Watch the Trailer below:

  1. Throwdown says:

Hell yeah. Xie Miao has been crushing it in his webmovies, and this franchise is IMHO superior to most theatrically released action movies we’ve gotten in the last decade. Looks like it’s going to the big screen, which he richly deserves. Between Xie, Ashton Chen, and Lin Fengchao, they’re turning Chinese streamers into the birth of an action renaissance.
