Hong Kong star Ekin Chen (The Storm RidersFull Strike, Tokyo Raiders) is back in CGI territory with Legends of the Three Kingdoms, an upcoming action fantasy from director Lv Kejing.

The movie also stars some of Chen’s Young and Dangerous co-stars, such as Michael Tse (Wild City, The Blade), Jerry Lamb (Jian Bing Man, The Hunted Hunter), as well as Jia Qing (White Vengeance) and Yu Rongguang (The Great WallFox Hunter).

  1. “an upcoming action fantasy” – Probably the most written 4 words of any site that’s been covering Chinese cinema over the last couple of years. 😛

    As for the clip itself, the effects are done better in Ekin’s recent insurance commercial. (Click at your peril)

    • Apparently the plot revolves around the battles to recover two ancient artifacts that are said harness the astonishing powers of the “Heroes Gate”. Beyond that though, little is known other than it’s based on a popular online video game.

    Has anyone else played Final Fantasy XV? There are moments in this trailer, particularly the sequence of Ekin dodging bullets in some kind of throne room, that look like they could have been taken directly from the game, right down to the set design, wardrobe, hairstyles, etc.

    Is there a DVD of this film? If so, any chance of a Region 0 format with English subs?
