Miramax Echo Bridge presents the Blu-ray for Jackie Chan’s Dragon Lord (aka Young Master in Love). This 1982 classic is directed by and starring Jackie Chan. Buyer Beware: Miramax Echo Bridge’s titles are not exactly known for their quality and care when it comes to Jackie Chan’s films (ie DVD upscales for Blu-ray editions, English dubbed tracks only). Great movie, though! Watch the trailer.

They really need to do a proper release of Dragons Forever. This one, Dragon Lord, is real easy to get already. It’s already on a Jackie Chan 8 pack. Dragons Forever was the last film the three brothers were in together. On Amazon, they want over $70 for a used copy, and over $100 for a new copy! Come on! It’s one of Jackie’s greats, show it some love!

  2. Miramax/Dimension/Echo Bridge Entertainment own the rights to that mentioned film,as well as TIGER CAGE 1 and 2,and have been playing those films on Hulu Plus in the last several months, for they might eventually(and hopefully) be up for a future U.S. DVD/Blu Ray release. And it’s true how Echo Bridge doesn’t bother with putting quality or care into their Jackie Chan DVD/Blu Ray releases(with the wrongful widescreen ratios of squeezing Jackie’s 2:35.1 ratio films into an uncomforable looking 1:85.1 ratio).

Miramax also has Wheels on Meals, Dragons Forever, and Yes Madam, correct? Those were streaming on Netflix about 6 months ago with the Miramax logo in front of them. The sad thing is the prints looked *great*, especially on Yes Madam. And these films are just languishing without a legitimate Blu-ray or DVD release over here in North America. I’d love if Shout! Factory could take these films off Miramax’s hands and put them out on Blu.

Fortunately, I’ve got Tiger Cage 1&2 on all-region Chinese DVD. And Dragons Forever – on VHS. Ha!
