News of the project, titled Nonstop – that originated from a December Instagram post by one of the aforementioned leads, Lee, by way of a Teaser Poster – left the public wondering if it were just a meaningless social media post, but now, it has been confirmed by Lee himself, via Variety:
“I still have a project left for Marvel. Also The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil, which I’m remaking with Sylvester Stallone. And then I’m getting ready for something called Nonstop, which is an actual franchise where Asian martial art actors Iko Uwais, Tony Jaa and Jet Li – get together in one movie.”
We’ll be sure to keep you informed about Nonstop. Until then, we leave you with the Trailer for 2018’s Triple Threat, which reminds us that something like Nonstop can easily become a reality.
At first, I thought this was some guy’s “what if,” but it would be great if this movie happens. Even if it is animated, it could still be fascinating.
It makes me think about what Jet Li said in interviews about turning down the Matrix sequels. He said the Warner Brothers were going to do motion capture of all his movements and would essentially “own him” for using his martial arts in future projects, and he wasn’t OK with that. I imagine it would be different for Nonstop.
