I wish I had a cool soundtrack like that while running from the cops, although I prefer Michael Bishop any day. Hehe
Excruciating and I know why the cops are after him, to put a stop to the whole thing
He’s running away from the inevitability of the 1990s!
Just too cool for words LOL.
I dig this track more than I should, that synthy police chase is on point.
It probably helps that I had no idea what he was saying but that dude totally looks like Orlando Bloom trying to be a hip German!
thats an excellent video, they don’t make good videos like that anymore… 🙂 [can you taste the sarcasm?]
Kinda funky and at the same time unbearable…
It’s foreign language retro white boy music that is trying to be funky and cool. I admit, it’s entertaining..but in a corny way! lol
wicked awesome
Teutonic Prince!
I love the 80s
Worst rear-projection ever… RIP Falco
Cool name, great song, and horrible video.
All that is in the video is flashing lights
and bad dancing.
Personally I prefer falco’s Rock Me Amadeus, but there’s something really inspiring about this video. At one point does he actually “because I’m rappin’ to the beat?”
Somehow this manages to be ridiculously entertaining and unbelievably awful all at the same time. Clearly, the cops didn’t approve either.
the music rocks the clothes are crazy and as always funny as heck.
Aw man I was never a big fan of new wave when it first came around (showing my age here) but I grudgingly admit that I liked this song when it came out. That said, this video is pathetic!!
Several reactions from this video:
1. Going to MPM74’s house party is as cool as those blue police lights. He has coke and fruit punch and I come in wearing sunglasses at night!!!
2. the mods on this site are undercover blue cops working for German intelligence.
3. I want to be an undercover cop, oh shit I blew my cover. If I tell you, it wouldn’t be undercover now would it, FUCK ME!!!
4. Can I be a Hong Kong Cop like Chow Fat???
Synth. Coke. Cheesy FX… must be the 80s!
Annoying awesome!
Some guy runs from the cops, then somehow is giant sized compared to the cars. That guy’s legs must have been tired from filming this in an afternoon in front of a blue screen.
It’s a shame that you didn’t link to the original, uncut video for this film. It begins with a seven minute long, unedited tracking shot that shows him break into a secret lab, using Gymkata techniques to dispatch the guards (action choreography was handled by the Solid Gold Dancers) and steal an experimental prototype of rocket powered roller-skates before being pursued by the police. It’s well known that the unabridged version of this video was the inspiration behind Tom Cruise and Brian DePalma creating the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE movie franchise.
Air-skating away from a rear-projected police car is always enhanced by freeze-framed flashes, on beat, illustrating how you are about to get hit by said police car. The slicked-back hair with aviator glasses and leather jacket look is enhanced by the gold chain necklace, and announces a visual style that simultaneously embodies early ’80s chic and timelessness. The final fade-out to black and white mirrors our own reflection on things remembered from an era now long past. In a word: “killer.”
