  1. American Ninja Man says:

This is Michael Dudikoff’s legitimately good movie. Okay American Ninja 1-2 and Midnight Ride are fun (I even have a soft spot the western he did, as well as the one where he was an assassin) but Avenging Force is good stuff. Already bought this on the original release.

Don’t know if you saw it MPM, but you will not be disappointed if you check it out.

  2. JJ Bona says:

“MPM” lol Dude, i have never seen this. Could you believe that? And, I believe you lol

    • American Ninja Man says:

I forget that MPM was the old days, still the 90s if I’m not mistaken. Was obsessed with schlock back then, still nostalgic for such. I’m still pissed they released Bloodfist 1 and not the ‘good’ one Bloodfist II.

I thought you liked Bloodfist III as well, something about the first ten minutes. 😉 Impressed if you remember the joke (you made ) from years ago.

      • JJ Bona says:

Bloodfist III was the one in prison, right? And no, I can’t remember the joke. PLEASE recap for me. lol “MPM” was late 90s, but carried on into the 00s.

P.S. Bloodfist 1 sucked. Bloodfist 2 was good. Bloodfist 3 sucked. Bloodfist 4 was good. I don’t think i ever watched any past 4. Which was the one where it was “Die Hard in a military station”? lol

  3. American Ninja Man says:

Die Hard in the nuclear silo/military station was Part 6. That one is really something else. Like they think it’s hilarious that the military general sends his female underling a sex doll with a schlong on it is hilarious. Also it’s got the production values of a porno. It’s easily the worst if the series. It is hilarious though.

The joke was, ‘you only liked Bloodfist III ANM, cause a guy gets pounded in it.’ and I thought that joke was hilarious. As for the film itself, it’s one of Wilson’s better films, but it’s no Bloodfist II that I came to appreciate for the overall package. Like Wilson going ‘Fuck you geek!’ also the drug message. Which given my current teetotaler status now, really adds a chef’s kiss element. The real problem was I watched a lot of these films shitfaced and then when I rewatched many were very awful, some still held up and most were very derivative yet held nostalgia. I just write these off as indefensible guilty pleasure.

I remember really liking Black Belt and Red Sun Rising, which I have on Blu Ray. I still want Bloodfist II for such.

  4. American Ninja Man says:

One more thing is Dudikoff vs Wilson, Dudikoff made better films overall, as American Ninja is supreme silly schlock. Avenging Force is legit. His western The Shooter was also solid and The Silencer was fine. But the only schlocky ones was his virtual reality one where a guy is trying to turn himself into computer virus, Midnight Ride with Mark Hamill asa maniac hitchhiker and I remember The Human Shield being okay. My point is, his films are usually but not as gloriously stupid as Wilson’s fare.

The problem with Wilson he’s made entertaining flicks, but never a legit good action film if that makes sense. I mean he did a film called Future Kick which is twice as dumb as it’s title. Like if we were doing a Kung Fu theater comparison. Dudikoff would be like Carter Wong, Wilson would be Bruce Le. Dolph Lundgren would be like Jimmy Wang Yu, even if the guy never came close to anything as awesome as Master Of The Flying Guillotine. Don’t get me wrong love The Punisher,Universal Soldier series and Bridge Of Dragons but it’s no Master Of The Flying Guillotine.

Gotta ask your opinion on this. Master If The Flying Guillotine, second best old school Kung Fu flick behind the goat The Big Boss. Yes,I count the Shaw Bros in this equation. Fighting words, but I stand by it.
