Looks like Tanigaki Kenji’s Furious has some competition! Hong Kong martial arts stars Andy On (Blind War) and Phillip Ng (Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In) go head-to-head in Furious Attack (aka Without Remorse), an action-thriller from director Huang Yi (Infernal Storm).
A former special forces soldier goes undercover in northern Myanmar to rescue his missing daughter, battling scam gangs and organ traffickers before facing off with the crime boss in a final showdown.
The film also stars Charlene Houghton (The Empty Hands), Junjia Hong (Striking Rescue) and Justin Cheung (Project Gutenberg).
Furious Attack is currently streaming domestically on iQIYI (aka Chinese Netflix), but given its star power, we’re 90% sure it’ll make its way the U.S. by way of Well Go USA or Hi-YAH!. Until then, don’t miss its Trailer below:

I remember when this was going to be called “Without Remorse.” I guess they’d rather use the title for the competition than an Amazon Prime film. I’m not too keen about this being an iQiyi project, as I’ll be very disappointed if it’s another humorless overly dramatic slogfest even if there are good action scenes.
Andy on is like a Chinese version of Scoth Alkin. I think I butchered his name here. He does so many movies that go straight to streaming in China.
And they both got their start in Black Mask 2: https://cityonfire.com/black-mask-2-city-of-masks-2002-aka-black-mask-ii-city-of-masks-2002/
Speaking of Philip Ng, he turns up again as the final boss in Northeast Police Story 3 aka Fight against Evil 3. Didn’t like this one as much as the previous two, theres alot more grappling and MMA vibes here. The most interesting aspect is during the golden age of HK cinema the bad guys would speak Mandarin or some backwaters Cantonese dialect. Now speaking Cantonese = evil bad guys.
