If you’ve seen Ana de Armas’ butt-kicking capabilities in the latest 007 film, No Time To Die – as well as her upcoming John Wick spinoff, Ballerina – you know she’s capable of leading her own action film, and that’s just what she does in Ghosted, an upcoming action-comedy from director, Dexter Fletcher (Rocketman).

Cole (Chris Evans) falls head over heels for enigmatic Sadie (De Armas) — but then makes the shocking discovery that she’s a secret agent. Before they can decide on a second date, Cole and Sadie are swept away on an international adventure to save the world (via Deadline).

Ghosted also stars Adrien Brody (The Pianist), Amy Sedaris (Elf) as well as martial arts star, Mike Moh, who portrayed Bruce Lee in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.

Ghosted premieres on Apple TV+ April 21st. Don’t miss the film’s Trailer below:

Looks like it could be harmless fun!

According to Mr Leeder, that wasn’t De Armas doing her action scene in No Time to Die. It was Monia Moula with De Armas’s face digitally placed on her. I really hope De Armas is doing more of her own action in this movie and Ballerina.

  2. Bucky Gun Gun says:

Looked cool up until I saw the PG-13.

  3. Scott Robinson says:

if Mike Leeder’s name isn’t attached it it he will always find ways to comment or put something down. Since when do we expect Hollywood celebrities to do their own stunt work????

    • Andrew Hernandez says:

We don’t expect them to do their stunts. We expect them to do their action. There’s a difference.

Leeder comments on on these things because he’s close to the stunt community and has a lot of knowledge on action film history. Being a casting director, he often reaches out to them, and they respect him as well.

  4. Kevin Tran says:

Trailer looks really good. She also dressed like a character in Bond. She was drop dead gorgeous in Bond so that a no brainer to have her dressed like that character again.

    • JJ Bona says:

Yep, it’s apparent that nobody cares about the actual movie for this one lol She’s such a “hot commoddity” that she can file lawsuits against studios that place her in movie Trailers =)

  5. Shadow says:

Sooo Chris Evans is a damsel in distress now…
Alright, alright, i wonder whats next?!)

  6. Andrew Hernandez says:

I caught this a few weeks ago, and it was OK.

I’m glad to see that Ana De Armas is up to the challenge of being an action hero, and we got a nice preview of what she’ll do in Ballerina. Chris Evans’ character was on his high school wrestling team, and he uses that to good effect here making not totally useless. His fight with Mike Moh was decent stuff, and I wished there was more of it.

This movie does try to follow the formula or True Lies and Knight and Day, but it doesn’t quite make it there. The big problem is how Chris Evans’ character gets away with a lot of bullshit in this movie simply because he’s handsome.

If an average looking guy did half the things he does here, he would have gotten his ass kicked ages ago from stalking a woman he just met, never bothering to check how she feels first, blaming her for everything and not accepting responsibility for what he’s done wrong.

With all that said, some spit and polish would have helped matters in the script.

    • I still haven’t brought myself to check this one out (that poster….seriously), but thought this article may be of interest to you Andrew. It covers both ‘Ghosted’ and the wider streaming phenomenon, in which “completion” rates (viewers who watch the content through to the end credits) dictate the quality of the movies being produced. Depending on your views around what cinema should be it kind of makes for a depressing read. Now, where’s that new Chinese web movie I need to check out? 😛

      • Andrew Hernandez says:

Hmmm. I get bits and pieces of the article, but I don’t thinks it’s as cut and dry as the author states.

It is a shame that modern audiences get impatient and turn stuff off the moment their attention isn’t held, but movies shouldn’t be made based on that notion.

I do believe in respecting the attention span of audiences, but no matter what you’re going to get an asshole audience member who just shuts off the movie to be spiteful and not because there wasn’t an explosion within 30 seconds.

The streaming films I’ve liked I think are good enough for theatrical release, so I don’t think there’s a set rule with them. Ghosted though, was a movie where they tried going for “quirky bantering,” and it just didn’t measure up.
