American Genre Film Archive (AGFA) has released a promotional Trailer for a New 2K restoration of Shaolin Vs. Wu Tang, which will eventually make its way to Blu-ray. This 1983 film isn’t Shaw Brothers production, but it does have essential Shaw talent behind it, such as legendary director Lau Kar Leung (36th Chamber of Shaolin) and headlining martial arts star, Gordon Liu (Executioners from Shaolin).
Shaolin Vs. Wu Tang also stars Adam Cheng (Cat vs. Rat), Cheng Li (Four Riders) and Johnny Wang Lung Wei (Shaolin Martial Arts).
Official details:
When an evil lord schemes to learn the secrets of Shaolin kung fu and Wu Tang sword by pitting the two schools against each other, it’s up to their top two students to team up to stop him from becoming the supreme master. The film that gave the Wu-Tang Clan its name (not to mention some of its most famous samples), Shaolin Vs. Wu Tang features all the hallmarks of the best of kung fu cinema: exhilarating fights, training montages, and an elaborate, abstract title sequence that could double for a modern dance performance.

Update: A forum member from Kung Fu Fandom contacted AGFA about the release of Shaolin Vs. Wu Tang, and unfortunately, this is what they had to say: “The “announcement” rumor did not come from us; we are not releasing this film on disc.”
