“Blade Runner 2049” Teaser Poster
Filmmaker Denis Villeneuve (Sicario, Arrival) is currently putting finishing touches on Blade Runner 2049 (aka Blade Runner 2), which has a theatrical release date set for October 6, 2017.
This sequel to Ridley Scott’s ground-breaking 1982 science fiction classic, which will take place some years after the first film concluded, has Harrison Ford returning as Rick Deckard.
Blade Runner 2049 also stars Ryan Gosling (Drive), Dave Bautista (Kickboxer: Vengeance), Robin Wright (State of Grace), Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips), Jared Leto (Suicide Squad) and last, but not least, Edward James Olmos will be reprising his role as Gaff.
Ridley Scott, director of the original, is serving as one of the film’s producers and writers. Hampton Fancher, who also worked on the original, is back on board as screenwriter. Michael Green (Green Lantern) is co-writing.

I doubt it was ever Harrison’s fault.
It’s not, but he could’ve tried a bit more to make Indy 4 suck less.
I couldn’t get through the first one without falling asleep. I with this one I can at least get through the movie without falling asleep from bordom.
I hear ya. I have yet to watch it in its entirety. I seem to daze out every time i try.
I do want to revisit it pretty soon here. Just been on a big Ridley Scott kick (recently watched Alien, Black Rain and looking very forward to Prometheus)….
Any ideas on which one I should watch? Final Cut?
You both make baby jesus cry. Final Cut is good, otherwise, the Director’s Cut is just fine. Here’s a fun way to keep yourself alert during it…. Keep on the lookout to references to “Eyes”. There is TONS of it in the movie. Many lines make reference to it, many images, etc. Watch it and look out for eyes.
I’ll keep that in mind. lol But which one is better? Is the main difference the narration? There are so many versions of this movie, I have no idea of where to start.
The narration was only in the Theatrical Version. Skip that. Go for either the Director’s Cut or the Final Cut. Very similar… a few words/mistakes were clarified and fixed in the final cut. But, either way, mostly the same. The Final Cut also fixed some continuity issues and cgi fixed a couple bugs (a wire could be seen making the spinner fly, a bruise on Deckard’s face in a scene before it should have been there, etc.)…. Go for Final Cut… but Director’s Cut is just as good.

Cool. I’ll pick this up for sure. It’s amazing how my tastes in movies can change in just a few years. So I’ll give it another go.
I’m still trying to figure out what Prometheus is…A sequel, remake, cash in, prequel, reboot???
Nobody knows the technical answer. Ridley Scott is just being secretive about it. From the trailers, it doesn’t take a genius (if you’ve seen ALIEN) to realize that there is definitely a solid connection. I mean, all technicalities aside, Prometheus is a f*cking prequel of Alien. Plain and simple.
Ryan Gosling. Great. 2 hours of a dull man staring off into the distance for no reason. Oh well. I’ll just have to find something else to watch instead.

Sad thing is, I haven’t seen Only God Forgives. So I guess he just stares blankly all the way through that one as well!
Although, if he’s going to be a replicant, maybe this will be the role he’s born to play.
