Seems these days in asian cinema when they say they aren’t going to do it, they will. When they say they are going to do it, they aren’t. I’m suprised either way.
I know! Frankly, I’m shocked too. I mean, I’m excited about the prospect of a “Ip Man 3.” But, at the same time, part of me was hoping Donnie would wait a few years, let the hunger for the movie really build among fans, and then make Part 3 when he was a bit older and could portray Ip Man in his elder years.

After what Donnie Yen said I had no hope for an IP Man 3. Plus, didn’t IP Man’s family say no more movies about IP Man? Regardless, I am pleasantly suprised, and I think it would be better if Donnie is younger than older so he can still use his martial arts skills with swiftness. The movie process takes a long time so this movie won’t be out for a very long time. Looking forward to seeing him train Bruce. I am bursting with excitement now, and I just hope they make it the best one of the series.
“with special 3D effects incorporated into the fight scenes.” What’s up with this? 3D is cool. but if it turns into cgi city, that would suck. Still good news though. Wonder who they’ll get for Bruce Lee?
Seems all martial arts directors are going the 3D route since True Legend. It seems they are more interested in the 3D aspect than the choreography aspect and that’s not a good thing at all. Even classic Italian Horror directors like Dario Argento and his new version of Bram Stoker’s Dracula is in 3D it’s suppossed to come out this year.

I don’t really need 3D to enjoy any martial arts movie but I’m just glad to say there will be an IP Man 3. Better start getting back in good shape King Yen.
Ip Man 3 in 3D would be cool in the theater. 2D will do just fine so I don’t care anyway.
I think Donnie should handle the action choreography for this one. I respect Sammo’s contribution to wing chun onscreen but it’s time to see Donnie do his take on it as he has proved that he can choreograph pretty much any style and make it look great onscreen.
I agree with you. Sammo’s strength as a choreographer is also sometimes his weakness. He’s very imaginative and dreams up wild stuff, but the result is that he usually has to rely on wires. That works for some movies but the first “Ip Man” was more rooted in reality. The wire-assisted moments in IP2 didn’t seem to fit.
I’d prefer Sammo. Yuen Woo Ping did that “Chinese Matrix” with “The Grandmasters” and I’m afraid that he has took out the basic elements of the Sammo’s coreography and show us some kind of “ultra scy-fi spooky Wing Chun version” in Ip Man 3. I don’t know. I have my doubts about this last part of franchise. I hope to be very wrong.
Yes anything to make part 3 better, or perhaps twice as better as Part 2.
Uh this is turning in to the Wong Fei Hung Once Upon a Time in China movies.As long as they dont suck balls and put more old skool shaw actors like Lo Meng and Fung Hak On it’ll be kool.
Im so glad IP Man 3 is coming love all the IP Man movies 1 and 2 I hope it will be as good as the first one much better than the second

They are stupid if they don’t make it.
They should cast the kid who beat the crap out of Jaden Smith in “Karate Kid” as young Bruce Lee. He had moves.
Donnie does have a point, but he should be willing to compromise at times also.

Well, he might still do films, just not the action-oriented stuff.
Well Go is planning a day-and-date with HK/China if they can finalize it in time…so it may hit select US cities for Christmas!

Might be for the best. It’d come off as cheap as that Game of Death scene in the Jackie Chan City Hunter.
Also, it could venture into parody territory like that Bruce nod in Shaolin Soccer.

SO glad that they deleted the cgi. CGI should only Be used in impossibly dangerous stunts for a few stunts.because it’s to expensive to do well.bad cgi or wires can ruin a movie.
