This 2022 South Korean sci-fi/fantasy action film directed by Choi Dong-hoon, who is perhaps best known for 2012’s The Thieves and 2015’s Assassination. Alienoid is the first in a planned series of two epic sci-fi action time-warpers. Day Zero (read our review), an action-horror flick directed by Joey De Guzman (The Ghosting) and starring MMA-turned-actor Brandon Vera, who is perhaps best known for his starring role in Erik Matti’s BuyBust. In the film, a former elite soldier (Vera) is released from jail only to discover that the outside world has been taken over by a dangerous virus. Chased by hordes of the undead, he fights tooth and nail in a desperate attempt to reach his estranged family.
