G-Storm, the latest in the popular Hong Kong crime franchise has yet to be released, but David Lam – director of Z Storm, S Storm, L Storm and P Storm – is already preparing a spin-off of the franchise titled OCTB (Organized Crime and Triad Bureau).

According to AFS, the spin-off will center on Julian Cheung’s (Extreme Crisis) character and his adventures in the OCTB division of the Hong Kong Police Force, which is responsible for triad countermeasures. The Storm films, from which OCTB is stemming from, followed the predicaments of Louis Koo’s character, a lead investigator in the ICAC unit (Independent Commission Against Corruption).

Given Lam’s track record for sequels, expect a another potential franchise for the spin-off (OCTB 2, OCTB 3, OCTB 4 and so on) if box office meet expectations. The OCTB division has been explored in countless Hong Kong films, but the one that instantly comes to mind (most likely because of its title) is the Kirk Wong/Danny Lee 1993 thriller, Organized Crime and Triad Bureau.

We’ll keep you updated on OCTB as we learn more. For now, here’s the Trailer for 1993’s Organized Crime and Triad Bureau.
