RELEASE DATE: December 13, 2011
Lionsgate is releasing Tsui Siu Ming’s (Bury Me High) 2008 action film Champions, which is about an underdog wushu athlete (Dicky Cheung) whose dream is to represent China in a martial arts performance at the Olympic Games so as to win the heart of a national sprinter, the girl he’s in love with. Also starring Xie Miao, Priscilla Wong Chui-Yu, Debbie Goh, Yu Rong-Guang, Xu Xiangdong and Li Hui.
Check out the trailer.
That cover looks like it was made 20 years ago, not three years ago. =p
I should actually mention that the actual Lionsgate art isn’t available yet. The one pictured is from the Chinese dvd release I think.
This movie has bad reviews but I want to see it based on the trailer. And it has the guy who played Jet Li’s son in “My Father is a Hero”/”The Enforcer.” I think he’s about 24 years-old now.
So LG can release a movie with people no one in America knows, but they still can’t put out the subbed and uncut version of Black Mask? =p
Update: Now the Lionsgate DVD cover is up. =D
I honestly liked the cheesy cover better.
And this cover ain’t cheesy? =p
