Zhang Hanyu goes ‘Death Wish’ with the the revenge thriller ‘Unspoken’ from director Chen Daming

Director Chen Daming (One Foot Off the Ground) is taking a page out of revenge thrillers like Charles Bronson’s Death Wish, Tetsuya Nakashima’s The World of Kanako and Jackie Chan’s The Foreigner with Unspoken.

The upcoming film – about a Chinese father who travels to the U.S. to avenge his murdered daughter – stars Zhang Hanyu (Manhunt, Operation Red Sea, Wine War), Jake Abel (Love & Mercy) and Michael Cudlitz (Running Scared).

It’ll be interesting to see if Zhang Hanyu will have “a very particular set of skills” that can make this one heck of an action flick, or of it will be more of a gritty, realistic thriller like Clint Eastwood’s Mytic River.
