To celebrate Kill Bill’s 20th anniversary later this year, Lionsgate is partnering up with Quentin Tarantino for new, remastered 4K editions of the two films (Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Kill Bill Vol. 2). Additionally, Tarantino’s 1997 film, Jackie Brown, will also be released by the label.

There’s some speculation if the upcoming 4K version of the Kill Bill films will include the long-awaited Whole Bloody Affair (Tarantino’s edit of both Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 as one film, complete with new footage), but only time will tell.

The Kill Bill saga revolves around a former assassin (Uma Thurman) who wreaks vengeance on a team of assassins (David Carradine, Darryl Hannah, Michael Madsen, Lucy Lui and Vivica Fox) who not only betrayed her, but also left her for dead.

The film featured an all-star cast with names like Sonny Chiba (Doberman Cop), Gordon Liu (Shaolin Martial Arts), Chiaki Kuriyama (Battle Royale), Michael Parks (Blood Father), Jun Kunimura (The Wailing), Kazuki Kitamura (Blade of the Immortal), Bo Svenson (The Inglorious Bastards) and Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction) and even Michael Jai White (Triple Threat), if you count deleted scenes.

Thanks to Deadline for breaking the news!
