what is this nonsence Katie Holmes action heroine i don’t like this she is not for this kind of roles

  2. Andrew Hernandez says:

I would have liked seeing Katie Holmes give it a go, but I consider myself a growing Ruby Rose fan. (looking forward to seeing her as Batwoman.)

I don’t mean to preach, but why are women still being referred to as “females?” I was hoping “woman-starring” or “woman-centric” would catch on. ;-&

Kitamura doesn’t even get his name on the cover. Fucked up. Dude is a legend even if most of his movies aren’t…very good.

    • JJ Bona says:

Seriously. I get the impression that some of these labels – once they already have their set “shipments” locked to major retailers like Walmart and Amazon – don’t care about the “buzz” words that really catch the hardcore fans. They rely more on “star power” and how they can make their poster/DVD cover look like someone else’s successful film. Their argument is nobody ever heard of VERSUS or the director’s name. The best way around it is to include the info regardless. Any film lover would notice the words “from the acclaimed director Ryuhei Kitamura”…. definitely wouldn’t hurt.

      • Hank says:

absolutely. I would never pick this up if I saw it in Walmart with this cheapo cover. looks like every other DTV movie. if they just threw Kitamura’s name on it, its immediately guaranteed a watch for me. And I’m not even a giant fan, I just think he’s an interesting filmmaker and everything he does is worth checking out.

Lol this AND SEIZED on the same day ?! I woulda been hyped if it wasn’t for Paul 🙁 Damnit Paul ! 😀

    • Christopher Dean says:

I will be down for this on three occasions.
1: The action looks like it could be good. As long as it’s edited well and the camera work is good like the trailer is showing.
2: If they don’t force the fact she is female, being woke and play it like John Wick Chapter 2 and XXX The Return Of Xander Cage where she was just a badass chick who did badass things and adds to the entertainment factor.
3: If the films is along the lines of Sudden Death, Final Score and Security where it’s just a fun little action flick that’s a bit of a throwback not trying to be anything more like Everly.

      • Andrew says:

THIS ! THIS SO MUCH ! completely agree with all 3 points, my hope is Kitamura hasn’t lost his touch with showcasing awesome action from his Versus days, also hope Ruby Rose despite her uh comparably smaller physique takes opponents down naturally and organically without feeling forced(I wanna see Atomic Blonde Stairwell scene levels of struggle to even defeat one guy, much less multiple). But yeah I’m down for this !

Now since this is a Lionsgate release, how much do you wanna bet, Paul will snatch an early review screener or copy and completely utterly destroy it in a review here, in say uh…….. a week’s time 😀 ? jk love you Paul *hugs
