  1. Tozaboma says:

No way! I still have the original old DVD from… whenever. When I’m having a bad year and need something delightfully absurd with epic fight scenes then it goes on yet again. This film will always have a special place in my heart just for the MA action and bonkers Britney Murphy. Where’s the party at?

  2. The million dollar question – were MVD able to negotiate with the UK’s very own Master of the Deal and Eastern Heroes founder, Ricky Baker, to include the 50 minute making of documentary that he produced and was included on the UK DVD from Medusa back in the day?

    • TheBluCorner says:

A making of feature was mentioned in the live stream where they announced this rel so that’ll proberly be it…

    • Scott Robinson says:

This DRIVE BLURAY is gonna put Ricky Baker back on the 1990s map! WELCOME BACK Ricky, welcome back!!!! About time! Now we finally get to see less selfies and more content!!!! Day one for me.

    • Andrew Hernandez says:

I have the Medusa DVD, and it was a great release. It would be great if those extras (minus the bad ones) are included here as well as some new ones.

  3. Kashif Nasar says:

The best news. This is an amazing film and I will be buying all releases whenever they show up.

I’m glad it will be the better version getting the luxury treatment.

  4. Ken Hashibe says:

I NEVER expected Drive to get a 4K remaster/Blu-ray release, but I’m extremely happy it is

  5. Aerosniff Someglue says:

    Who cares?

Shin Ultraman is gonna kick Mark’s butt!

    • Nightrain says:

I care, Aerosniff! Dacascos is gonna kick Shin Ultraman’s ass so hard that the next Ultraman Shin wannabe is gonna feel it!

  6. KayKay says:

It’s still the Crown Jewel of Mark Dacascos’ annoyingly uneven filmography (for a martial arts star of his charisma and caliber, his hit to miss ratio is terribly low), which makes it doubly annoying for me to explain to people when I say DRIVE, I’m referencing one of the most giddily entertaining and kick ass martial arts movie ever made and not some moody, noir-ish Ryan Gosling flick.

Even Dacascos’ re-team with Hardison could only give us the severely underwhelming FATAL INSTINCT.

Guess I’ll have to wait for Christophe Gans’ CORTO MALTESE to see Dacascos in another stylish action movie.

    • “Guess I’ll have to wait for Christophe Gans’ CORTO MALTESE to see Dacascos in another stylish action movie.”

Christophe Gans’ ‘Corto Maltese’, Steve Wang’s ‘Man of Action’, Philip Cruz’s ‘Song of the Knife’, Pedring Lopez’s ‘Breach’ – if there’s one thing for certain, when Dacascos is announced in a movie with some genuine talent and potential, the only guarantee is that it’ll never get further than pre-production.

  7. KayKay says:

Wow! Was completely clueless about these other stalled Dacascos films. They’re not even listed on IMDB. Hope the Dacascos Jinx can be broken

  8. Nerd E1 says:

This might be great news to some, but anyone with a region free bluray player already has this. I’d rather see an actual 4K version, not a bluray remastered in 4K.

    • Reggie Gates says:

Where’s this magic Blu-ray you already had?

      Oh, you’re talking BS?

      Carry on…

      • Dan Hagen says:

I was gonna say, I don’t think there’s been any other official blu-rays for this movie. They prepared a mediocre HD transfer a few years back for streaming services (you can see it on Amazon), but it never actually got a physical release.

This new 4K transfer from MVD Rewind, however, is absolutely sublime. Excellent picture quality and sound quality. My only complaint is the lack of subtitles, which is a strange omission (although they are provided with the theatrical version).

  9. Mike Retter says:

One of the greatest martial arts films ever made.
