On May 25, 2021, Well Go USA is releasing the Blu-ray & DVD for Delivery us From Evil, an upcoming action-thriller starring Hwang Jung-Min (The Wailing) and Lee Jung-Jae (Big Match).

The film comes from Hong Won-Chan, the director of Office and writer of Na Hong-jin’s The Chaser and The Yellow Sea (two of our favorite Korean movies of all time).

Deliver us from Evil is an action-packed thrill ride from start to finish, which is no surprise thanks to its veteran cast that includes Hwang Jung Min and Lee Jung Jae,” said Doris Pfardrescher, President and CEO at Well Go USA Entertainment.

Deliver Us from Evil follows a man whose life is turned upside down because of a final contract killing that must be performed (via KF).

Co-stars include Park Jung-Min (Tazza: One‑Eyed Jack), Choi Hee-Seo (Okja), Park Myoung-Hoon (Parasite) and Oh Dae-Hwan (RV: Resurrected Victims).

This looks good. South Korean horror and action really fell off a cliff after The Wailing and Train to Busan came out. Glad they’re picking back up.

  2. Aerosniff Someglue says:

Hitman: Agent Jun, The Battleship Island, The outlaws, The gangster, the cop, the devil, Unstoppable, Exit, Memoir of a Murderer, The fortress, The spy gone North, The man standing next, Steel rain, Steel rain 2, Parasite, Extreme job, Dark figure of Crime, The merciless, Believer, The king, A taxi driver… Not bad since 2017… By the way, Deliver us from evil is the biggest succes of the year in Korea behind The man standing next, not that it means it’s good but…

    • JJ Bona says:

You’re right, doesn’t mean it’ll be good, but between that and its Trailer, I’m sold. If a movie is titled “Deliver us from Evil”, it has to be good. There’s just no way in hell it can be bad. 😉

  3. Aerosniff Someglue says:

Yes! I really really like that “hard action thriller “. I think there’s a longer director’s cut/final cut, don’t know if it’s better than the theatrical cut (I’ve read just one review that said it was a little better).

  4. BuckyGunGun says:

It’s third act imagery has “Extraordinary Mission” vibes. Which itself had “Mission: Impossible 2” vibes.
Whatever. Hopefully there will be much R rated bad guy killing and hardcore destruction to satisfy my working class taste.

    • Aerosniff Someglue says:

Killing yes, violence yes… But destruction, it’s not a Michael Bay crap for sure (a good thing I think).
