This period samurai film (read our review) stars Takuya Kimura (2046), Hana Sugisaki (Mozu: The Movie), Sota Fukushi (Library Wars), Hayato Ichihara (Yakuza Apocalypse), Erika Toda (Goemon), Ebizo Ichikawa (Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai), Tsutomu Yamazaki (As the Gods Will) and Min Tanaka (The Eternal Zero).

Manji, a highly skilled samurai, becomes cursed with immortality after a legendary battle. Haunted by the brutal murder of his sister, Manji knows that only fighting evil will regain his soul. He promises to help a young girl named Rin avenge her parents, who were killed by a group of master swordsmen led by ruthless warrior Anotsu. Should it be April 29, 2016 or April 29, 2017?

  2. Ningen21 says:

BTW, Miike will be at the November premiere in L.A. at the Nuart.

I find it amusing that Sota Fukushi, who plays Anotsu in this movie, was Gentaro Kisaragi in Kamen Rider Fourze. One of Gentaro’s goals is to become friends with everyone at his high school, making him almost exactly the opposite of someone like Anotsu.

  4. Johnnie says:

Good to know, though the waiting will be murder…

  5. Kung Fu Bob says:

Three months until the Blu-ray release. I’m hopeful the film will get a theatrical release locally so my son, friends and I can check it out sooner than that. Plus, I don’t think I’ve seen any decent samurai splatter on the big screen since VERSUS!
