Tras el cristal (English: In a Glass Cage) is a 1987 Spanish art house horror film written and directed by Agustí Villaronga and starring Günter Meisner, Marisa Paredes and David Sust. Oh wow. This movie is an experience. I saw it for the first time on DVD not too long ago. I have a thing for trying to see all the “shock cinema” movies that are out there. This one is pretty legendary. The meditative pace of the film kinda undoes a lot of the shock value, but also makes it even more of a grueling experience. I remember the cinematography is almost too “pretty” for the kind of story the filmmaker was trying to tell.
